Sacro Occipital Technique
SOT is a chiropractic technique that is designed to balance and correct problems with the spine, the nervous system and the craniosacral system. SOT involves a system of indicators on the body that allow the practitioner to locate and correct the problem area so that only the misaligned and malfunctioning areas are treated. With this technique, gentle methods are utilized to adjust the spine, pelvis, cranium and most other joints of the body. SOT also includes techniques which help internal organ problems such as hiatal hernia, liver congestion and ileocecal valve blockage.
Cranial and TMJ Adjusting
The human skull is composed of individual bones that continue to move throughout life causing expansion and contraction of the cranium, which then facilitates cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow around the brain and spinal cord. This flow of CSF is necessary to cushion and bring nutrients to the nervous system. Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) can be caused by improper cranial bone alignment, muscular tension or imbalances in the spine or pelvis. All of these problems can be addressed by gentle adjustments that restore balance and ease in the body.
Extremity Adjusting
Many joints of the body connect to and influence the balance of the spine and pelvis and need to be addressed in order to restore balance and proper function of the body. Dr. Thompson addresses all of these joints including the feet, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands.
